Veolia Transport

Welcome!

The Lapland train (Lapplandståget) is one of Europe’s longest railways running from Malmö in Sweden to Narvik in Norway. The 2,147 kilometers will take you to the land of the midnight sun north of the Arctic Circle. Lapland offers fresh air, peace and quiet, amazing nature, reindeers, moose and of course the incredible light over the landscape where the sun never sets.

The journey to Lappland

The Lapland train offers travel in coach or sleeping car (couchette). You can also choose your own sleeping compartment. If you choose the sleeping car, sleeping bag, blanket, pillow with pillow case and towel are included. If you have your own sleeping compartment a key to the compartment is included.

The midnight sun

The Arctic Circle – the gateway to the midnight sun. The Lapland train slows down and signals as we pass by the geographical Arctic Circle. North of the Arctic Circle, we are in the land of the midnight sun, meaning that it is light round the clock. Discover the Nordic light as you have never before.

Ofotbanen

Ofotbanen – the journey on the cliff. When we have passed the border between Sweden and Norway we begin the journey down to Narvik. The train travels slowly on the tracks on the cliff and we look down into the Rombakks fjord. In the background we see the mountain Lofoten.
